BBQ Burgers

Ok so it has been quite some time since I posted but I have been pretty busy with my real job. But me and my wife made a special dinner for all the family, she made some homemade mustard potato salad and salsa, while I made some homemade BBQ sauce and burgers. The recipe for the BBQ sauce I got from the food network magazine, but altered it slightly for my taste.

Kansas City BBQ Sauce

6     X Cloves of Garlic, Minced

2     X Tablespoons of Chili Powder

1/4  X Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

1/4 X  Teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 X  Teaspoon Salt

1 X    Teaspoon Course Ground Pepper

1.5 X Cups Ketchup

1 X    Cup Water

1/2 X Cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 X Cup Yellow Mustard

1/4 X Cup Molasses

1/4 X Cup loose light brown Sugar

1 X    Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

2 X     Tablespoons vegetable oil

Combine Garlic, Chili powder, cayenne, allspice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. In a separate bowl whisk the ketchup, water, vinegar, mustard, molasses, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Next, heat the vegetable oil over medium to high heat, in medium to large pot and add the garlic mixture, stir for about a minute the vegetable oil should be a brick red color. Now add the ketchup mixture to pot and reduce to a simmer and let simmer for about thirty minutes.

BBQ Burgers

4 lbs hamburger meat

2/3 cup of BBQ sauce

Mix the meat and BBQ in large bowl until it is fully worked in. Cook these in a large skillet, as you flip them you will see what appears to be a burnt burger but his is just the BBQ sauce being transitioned from aqueous state to its solid form. After cooked to your liking, remove and place on a wire rack to let any liquid escape from the burger, leave it there for about two minute.
